The long awaited Lumia Denim update for Nokia Lumia smartphones has finally started rolling out, though only in China for now. The update was initially announced back in September, with its features getting detailed last month. However, at one point one UK operator warned that we shouldn't expect to see Denim on phones this year, as initially planned. Now it turns out that the new software will in fact make it to some devices in 2014, though we assume the majority of markets will get it in early 2015. Lumia Denim comes with a better and faster Lumia Camera app, faster photo snapping, a Moment Capture feature shooting video in 4K@24fps, Rich Capture (Auto HDR and Dynamic Flash), improved image processing, better Glance Screen with weather, health, and fitness info, and "Hey Cortana!" voice activation. Unfortunately though most of these features won't make it to all Lumia handsets, as they are dependent on certain hardware abilities. The update is now rolling out in China for the Nokia Lumia 520, 525, 526, 625, 720, 720T, and 1320. Hopefully it won't take long before it lands on more devices and in more places.
