T-Mobile is continuing on with its "un-carrier" campaign, today unveiling the eighth installment in the saga. This time, the company has targeted an "appalling industry practice" which it plans to end. Namely, we're talking about the fact that you can only use the amount of data your plan comes with for one month, after which any unused amount is simply gone forever. With T-Mobile's new Data Stash feature, that won't be the case anymore. At least if you're on an eligible postpaid Simple Choice plan from T-Mobile and you buy extra high-speed data for your smartphone or tablet (3GB or more for the former, 1GB or more for the latter). And that is the main caveat here, that the new policy will only apply to people who are in this situation. Data Stash will become available in January, and T-Mobile is going to put 10GB of 4G LTE data in every Stash, for free, as a welcome gift of sorts. The 10GB of free data will be offered for every line in the family on a qualifying plan. There's no limit to how much data you can collect in your Data Stash. T-Mobile boasts that this is the first such program from a national carrier. Hopefully its competitors will follow suit, as they have already replicated some of its past moves. Source |...
