Strictly's Janette Manrara reveals moment Aljaz Skorjanec proposed to her in the dance studio where they first met

They fell in love before joining BBC One show Strictly Come Dancing. 

And Aljaz Skorjanec made sure he reminded his long-term girlfriend Janette Manrara how their romance began, as he bent down on one knee in the studio where they had met for the very first time five years ago.

Miami-born Janette, 31, admitted she was concerned Alijaz, 25, was just tying his shoe, as she stopped herself from crying just in case she had misread the signs, in a new interview in OK! magazine.

Speaking in this week's issue of the magazine, Aljaz revealed how he got down on one knee at Dance Attic, the place the pair met in 2010.

The dancer said: 'I even managed to hire the same room. I told Janette we were going to a promotional event for my friend and that there might be press, so to look nice.

'I'd actually bought a ring two weeks beforehand and had been waiting for the right time.'

On the moment her boyfriend of four years popped the big question, Janette continued: 'I was about to start crying and then I thought, 'what if he's just tying his shoes?''

But once she had time to digest what was happening, Janette admitted to shedding 'tears of joy,' while Aljaz confessed to also feeling overwhelmed during the romantic display. 

And the dancer wasn't afraid to reveal the true extend of his emotions, as he confessed to welling up after Janette agreed to be his wife.

He said, with a laugh: 'It was a very manly cry. It's such a beautiful moment so you can't really help it.'

Janette couldn't resist flashing her engagement ring while holding a dessert plate with 'Congratulations' written in chocolate sauce, as she announced the news with her Twitter following.

Aljaz echoed her Twitter announcement, writing: 'She said 'YES'!'

On Monday, Janette stepped out ahead of the rehearsals for the new series of Strictly, flashing her impressive diamond engagement ring, which looked slightly at odds with her casual workwear.

The couple have been professionals on the BBC show since 2013, which Aljaz went on to win with his celebrity partner Abbey Clancy.

Unfortunately for Janette, she was eliminated in Week 4 with her partner, fashion designer Julien Macdonald.

However, she fared better last year with partner, EastEnders actor Jake Wood, lasting until Week 12, while Aljaz only made it to Week 7 with his celebrity partner Alison Hammond.
