He's often seen working up a sweat with regular workouts to maintain his sculpted physique.

And Orlando Bloom, 38, certainly flaunted the fruits of his labour as he showcased his gym-honed body in a soaking wet T-shirt while out surfing in Malibu on Friday.

The Lord of the Rings actor appeared to take the matter of the California heatwave into his own hands as he took to the beach to cool off while riding the waves.

The father-of-one looked to have advanced surfing skills as he braved the waves to balance on the surf-board, accompanied by an instructor.

But the Canterbury-born star appeared to find it somewhat of a challenge at times, as he was seen pulling a host of frustrated-looking faces while at sea.

After working up a storm on the waves, the English actor was seen swimming back to the shore to take a well-earned rest.
