He may not have got his name on the scoresheet but Arsenal had Mesut Ozil to thank as they kept pace with Manchester City at the top of the table with victory over Swansea at the Liberty Stadium. The Gunners had struggled to click during a poor first half but just minutes after the break the German international proved key, sending in a corner from which Olivier Giroud opened the scoring.
Ozil, who leads Europe’s assists charts ahead of team-mate Santi Cazorla and Bayern Munich’s Douglas Costa, was not done there though. The 27-year-old then combined beautifully with Alexis Sanchez before finding Joel Campbell who sealed the win with his first Premier League goal.
The win keeps Arsenal level on points with Manuel Pellegrini's men at the top of the Premier League, while Ozil now returns to Germany for the small matter of a Champions League tie against Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena.
